late September 2008
the Baltic sea

Once again, emboldened by recent successes in Helsinki, the horde sets sail. The veterans knew that this would be difficult raid, but nobody expected that before it was over we would have nearly lost one of our own.

Our carrier, Tallink, was an company operated out of Estonia with direct lines to Riga, Tallinn, and other major ports in the Baltic. The weather was fair and we got a nice view of the archipelago showing signs of Autumn as we made way to sea.

With the sun setting, it was time to warm up. We would arrive in Riga in about 12 hours, which left plenty of time to hit the tax-free shop and the spa. Notice a pattern here?
over capacity -- just right
It was time to hit the bunks after a full night of swimming, drinking, and dancing. The PA would wake us in a few hours to let us know that we had arrived. This is good because there is no way to tell through our window since it's a mirror.
